American-grown extra-long staple cotton [PIMA Club®︎]
Top quality bed linen made in Japan, produced at Hatly Textile’s factory from spun yarn of American-grown extra-long staple cotton, Supima® (registered by Supima Association of America), which is contamination-free and characterized by elegant silk-like gloss, smooth and supple touch feeling, and gentle texture.
Supima cotton is grown in the U.S. states of California, Texas, Arizona, and New Mexico, and has a fiber length of 35 mm or greater, and is recognized as the second finest cotton in the world after Egyptian cotton. The fiber is slightly thicker than Egyptian cotton, so it does not have the same gentle texture as Egyptian cotton, but its luster, smoothness, and drape make it a superior quality cotton that is as good as Egyptian cotton. Since the amount of Egyptian extra-long staple cotton grown cannot meet the demand of luxury hotels around the world, it is used as a luxury material to replace Egyptian cotton.
In addition, Supima cotton has a high degree of whiteness and is traded at a price higher than Egyptian cotton because of its large supply capacity due to machine cultivation and less concern about adulteration. In the hotel industry, it is used as the highest grade of bed linen with 300 TC or more.
